Pre-Ballet

Pre-Ballet is designed for children ages 6 to 8 years old. We work on simple classical movements, focusing on musicality and coordination. Classes are 60 minutes.

Student Division Classes:

Spring 2024

Ballet 1

In Ballet 1, students ages 7 to 10 will work at the barre, center and across the floor. We follow the Bolshoi Ballet curriculum. Classes are 60 minutes.

Ballet 2

Students ages 9 to 12 are introduced to longer combinations and pre-pointe work. These dancers are preparing their ankles for pointe. Classes are 75 minutes and students are strongly encouraged to take two classes per week.

Ballet 3

All students, ages 12 to 15, are required to take two technique classes per week to begin pointe. Classes are two hours each and include 30 minutes of pre-pointe/pointe. Two-hour classes provide the opportunity for students to master the fundamentals as well as to begin developing their technical ability and artistry.

Ballet 4/5

Dancers 14 to 18 years old will enjoy this two-hour class, which consists of 90 minutes of technique and 30 minutes of pointe and/or variations. Dancers at this level will be challenged to incorporate refined artistry and musicality into more complicated combinations. Ballet 4 and 5 students must take at least two classes per week.

Jazz

A wonderful class for ages 12 to 18. Not only will we work on jazz technique and improvisation, but also stage presence and confidence. The students will have opportunities to choreograph on themselves and on their peers.

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)

For Ballet 3 through 5 students, Progressing Ballet Technique is a body conditioning and strengthening class focusing on core strength, weight placement and alignment of the body. This class is a great addition to any technique class.

Age ranges are approximate. Class placement is by ability rather than age, and placement decisions are made by the studio director.
